Q1. You are asked to work as database designer to consider the following problem description (Note that X and Y are specific to every student): A medical institute hires medical doctors to work in hospitals. A medical doctor may work in more than one hospital. Each hospital has a director (who is a medical doctor), a location and administrators (keep only names of administrators); a hospital also runs different research projects to improve its productivity. A medical doctor has equipment in each hospital he/she works in. Each equipment has serial number, name, color and may be shared by several medical doctors to check patients who may be classificd as X and Y (here, replace X and Y with two types of patients of your choice and specify two or three attributes for each type of patients you choose). A medical doctor has an ID, name, office, and at least one research area. Medical doctors may collaborate and write articles from research projects. Each medical doctor records the number of hours he/she spent on writing an article. A research project has a title, budget, description, and several deadlines specified as month and year. A paper has a title, at least one author and number of pages. Further, an article may be published in a conference or in a journal. A conference has a name, publisher, location and date. A journal has name, publisher, and at least one editor who is a medical doctor. A publisher may also publish books written by medical doctors to describe the cases of patients from category X. A book has title, number of pages and is used as a reference in at least one research project. Finally, a medical doctor gets paid for cach book he/she writes. a) Draw Extended Entity Relationship diagram by identifying entities, relationships, and their attributes. Only when it is obvious from the above description, decide on relationship cardinality, State any constraints you may find necessary; but make sure your constraints do not contradict with the problem specifications as described above
