Thembelani Dlamini works at DDX Digital Communications. He spends a lot of company time answering private emails from

his girlfriend and sometimes goes onto the internet during lunchtime and watches pornography. The Human Resources

department became aware of this through monitoring information technology and dismissed him for misconduct.

Thembelani feels aggrieved as he feels his privacy was violated.

Discuss this with regards to ethics and information technology in the workplace. Specifically consider if DDX was within their rights to monitor their staff in this manner
