Question 2 Not yet answered Marked out of 10.00 P Flag question The level of radioactivity in limpets (a type of shellfish) in the sea near to a nuclear power station is regularly monitored. Over a period of years, it has been found that the level (measured in suitable units) is Normally distributed with mean 5.64. Following an incident at the power station, a researcher suspects that the mean level of radioactivity in limpets may have increased. The researcher selects a random sample of 60 limpets. Their levels of radioactivity, X(measured in the same units), are summarised as follows. Ex = 373 Ex = 2498 a) State the Null and Alternative hypotheses b) Calculate the standard error of the mean (4 dp accuracy) c) Calculate the test-statistic, t = (2 dp accuracy) d) What are the df= 59 e) Look up the critical value, round the df up or down to find the nearest of in the tables, to= df= (state to to 4dp as given in tables) f) What is your decision? g) The Incident at the power station has the radioactivity in the limpets
