QUESTION 3 [CLO 3] On January 10, 2020, Richard places an ad in the newspaper which states: "Looking for 2005 CRV. Prepared to purchase for $5. Please contact." On January 11, 2020, Abby responds by letter stating: "I accept. Come and collect the car." The letter never gets to its destination. On January 12, 2020, Johnson calls Richard and explains to him that he is selling the vehicle he wants but it is for $10. Richard refuses this and says the price is too high but should the price ever be $7, that would be fair. On January 20, 2020 after many unsuccessful attempts to procure a seller, Richard changes the ad to say: "Will purchases 2005 CRV for $5-$7. First person that accepts, I will buy once it is in the price range." Richard puts $7 in a savings account that day. On January 21, 2020 Johnson sends an email to Richard accepting the $7 proposed. However, it was never read by Richard. On January 21,2020 Abby's letter gets to Richard. Upon its receipt, he puts an advertisement revoking his offer and writes to Abby asking where she can be found. Abby replies to Richard's letter, stating that the car was already sold and there is another one of that type, however, it would be for $7. Infuriated by Abby's response, Richard threatens to sue on the contract between them. Required Discuss using the support of Case Laws, Richard's rights with respect to a valid contract. [15 marks)
