Question , C4]
An evaporator-crystallizer system is designed to produce 20kgh of salt crystals. A fresh feed mixes with a recycle stream and the combined stream, which is 30wt% salt, is fed to an evaporator. Leaving the evaporator is a solution that is 45 wt% salt. This stream is fed to a crystallizer which produces a filter cake. The filter cake consists of some of the solution (which is 35 wt% salt) from the crystallizer as well as pure crystals. The rest of the solution is recycled back to join the fresh feed. If 25% of the solution from the crystallizer exits with the filter cake:
a) Draw and completely label the block diagram for the process
