The following information is the information provided in the sales forecast report : The forecasted sales for the months of May to June 2020 are as follows:- May : 51,000 units June : 53,000 units Grandhawk estimates that sales will increase by 20% (from the number of units sold in June) for the month of July. The management of Grandhawk has proposed to set a target ending finished goods for each month at 25% of the following month's sales. Required: (a) Compute the following (show workings using a production budget or other means): (i) Budgeted production (units) for the month of May 2020. (ii) Target ending finished goods (units) for June 2020. (b) Ignore your calculations in part (a) above. Assume that the production manager has provided you with the following production budget : Apr May June Production (units) 50,200 52,200 54,200 Every unit of G-Hawk requires 1.5 direct labour hours to produce. Grandhawk Ltd. pays its employees $25 per direct labour hour. The company pays 60% of the direct labour costs in the month of production and 40% in the month following the production. Compute the following (show workings using a direct labour budget or other means): (i) Budgeted Direct labour hours for the month of May 2020. (ii) Budgeted Direct labour cost ($) for the month of June 2020. (iii) Expected Total cash payments for the month of May 2020. (iv) Expected Total cash payments for the month of June 2020
