Question: Please provide a feedbeck and pretend as though you are the person your coworker is giving feedback to. Would you change or suggest anything to make the feedback even more useful and/or persuasive, as a recipient? (e.g. the context the feedback might be given in, the tone of the communication, etc.)
There is a co-worker at my current job I would like to give some feedback to. We share an office space however, our work dynamic is complicated. The feedback I would like to give to my co-worker is in regards to time management. The culture at my organization is already weak and we are struggling to retain staff. This individual is the Staff Development Coordinator an is in charge of the onboarding process. Using the SBI Formula I will be giving negative feedback to my coworker.
Situation: When setting up interviews and orientations there has been time conflicts.
Behavior: Double booking people for interviews and orientation.
Impact: Causes confusion and does not give a good first impression for our new and potential employees.
In order to make my feedback more useful I would provide information for improvement. It is vital to share solutions to the problem. Starting by finding out what steps she currently takes when conducting the onboarding process. I could then offer some time management solutions such as: prioritizing tasks, time blocking, and keeping an agenda. By giving effective feedback she will be able to utilize these solutions and solve the problem.
