Procedures:

  1. Click on the link and choose "Ideal".
  2. Choose "Heavy" particles (blue atoms)
  3. Click on "Collision counter" so the number of collisions can be recorded.
  4. Pump the bicycle pump up and down 3 times and notice the blue atoms entering the closed system.
  5. Click on the green arrow and record the number of collisions per second in your data table
  6. Click on the arrow in the temperature counter to change the temperature from Kelvin (K) to Celsius C.
  7. Record the initial temperature and pressure in your data table.
  8. Apply the heat flame for 2 seconds.
  9. Click on the collision green arrow and record the number of collisions in your data table.
  10. Record the new temperature and pressure in your data table.
  11. Apply the heat flame once again for 2 seconds and repeat steps #9 and #10.
  12. Continue to repeat steps 8-10 until the top blows off the container. (record at what time the top blew off)
  13. Repeat the experiment with the light (red) particles and record your data. FILL THIS OUT!!!

You are making your own graph grid and placing data points and then placing a line through the data points. Graph #2 (5 points)Time heated (x axis) vs pressure (y axis) Graph #3 (5 points) Time heated (x axis) vs # of collisions (y axis) Use the lines below to write 3 paragraph's explaining your analysis of the experiment and explain what the results were and WHY the data results for EACH of the 3 graphs turned out as they did. (each graph will have a blue particle line (heavy particles) and a red particle line [light particles) Graph #1-(5 pts.) Graph #2- (5 points) Graph #3- (5 points)
