RAH is a private healthcare provider offering a wide range of advanced diagnostic procedures and treatments. They have proposed to develop a new specialist hos that provides a number of specialities including urology, cancer, orthopaedics, neurology, haematology etc. The hospital will comprise 60 private inpatient beds, 20 private day case beds and 5 state of the art operating theatres. Other facilities include outpatient services (imaging suite and consultation rooms) and a well equipped day case unit with outpatient chemotherapy and radiotherapy services. The proposed start date of the project is June 2023 and is expected to be completed in May 2025, with an estimated cost of 122 million. The client requires innovation in the design and construction of the facility. As such, the client will allocate sufficient time and resources to ensure that detailed design and specifications are produced before the commencement of construction. Furthermore, this is a specialist project and both design and specification have to be done accurately and to very specific criteria. Therefore the client seeks to appoint a contractor with vast experience in developing similar specialist capital construction works projects. The project should meet the completion date and high quality standards and ensure price certainty at the award of the project. It is also expected that the hospital project achieves an 'Excellent BREEAM' rating and so all materials should be responsibly and sustainably sourced.
