Mr David Tlale is a world$-$famous South African fashion designer and artist. He engages in many creative pursuits and

creates unique, one$-$ol$-$a$-$kind clothing pieces which have been displayed at some of the world's largest fashion shows such

as New York Fashion Week.

He is now also branching into making music for SABC and is creating a functional yet unique kitchenware range of his

runway designs for big brands such as byhome and YuppieChet. The ktchenware range will be named "Living by Thale".

to compare each category of intelectual property and provide examples of each category.

Jamie Coetzee purchases a second$-$hand Mercedes Benz C Class from Shap Shap Auto Traders on

$12$ October $2023$ for R$200000\mathrm{.}00($two hundred thousand Rand$).$

He takes delivery of the vehicle and is very happy with his dream car purchase. He cannot wait to tell his wife the good

neas. The vehicle is placed on a motor plan warranty with Shap Shap Auto Traders and the dealership assures him that

they will sort out any issues he may have with the vehicle upon purchase.

By $4$ November, Jannie notces that the engine light keeps flashing. He cals the dealership, Shap Shap Aufo Traders, and

tells them that the engine light is flashing. The dealership tells Jannie to bring the vehicle into their shop for an inspection.

On $8$ November, Jannie recelves his vehicle back from the deslership and is told that there is no issue with the vehicle.

Janie decides to embark on a work$-$related road trip from Johennesburg to Cape Town.

On $10$ November, halfway to Cape Town, Jannie's car selzes up and the vehicle stops working. He is lett on the side of the

road stranded. Unexpectedly, an engine fire starts and the car bursts into flames. The car is totally destroyed and Jannie

feels that he was lied to by Shep Shep Auso Traders and sold a faulty vehicle that was unsafe to drive.

The purpose of the Consumer Protection Act is to encourage social and economic welfare of consumers. The act specifes

that it intends to actieve this by creating a culture of consumer responsibily, promoting fair business practices, protecting

consumers from unfair, deceptive, mislesding or fraudulent conduct, improving consumer awareness and access to

information, reducing disadvantages endured by consumers and establishing a legal framework for maintenance of a fair

and equitable consumer market for the benefit of consumers.

Advise Jannie what remedies are avalable to him in terms of the Consumer Protection Act.
