The film, Joker vividly shows the topics analyzed this week. The debate often centers on the distinction between nature and nurture, that is, between how someone is in their existence and how they were raised.

1. Is the nature/nurture distinction unhelpful when it comes to serial killers? For example, it is the nature of the rattlesnake to be poisonous, and no amount of "nurture" will change this fact.
2. Are murderous psychopaths akin to rattlesnakes, or can they be rehabilitated?
