In case you can't see the picture This is the case study Jami has been baking all of his life, cakes, brownies, cupcakes, cookies, and anything else that you can imagine! They had always baked as hobby, bringing cakes to friends' birthday parties, anniversaries and even weddings. Wherever they brought baked goods they were showered with praise, many people saying that Jami's baked goods were the best desserts they had ever had! Jami graduated from the psychology program and decided that, rather than pursuing a master's and doctorate, they would try to find work with their current level of education. After nearly 3 months of searching for a job, Jami could not find anything that suited their personality or needs, and started to consider returning to school to pursue further education in hopes of finding a job in the field of psychology. Jami's long-time girlfriend, Penelope, who had watched Jami struggle to find a job, recommended that they look into opening their own bakery. Penelope was to soon graduate from the University's Telfer School of Management's Bachelor of Commerce program with an option in entrepreneurship, and was looking for an idea of a business that she could start when she graduated. Jami loved the idea, and indicated they would take care of all the baking and cake design, while Penelope would manage the finances of the business and take care of any ordering needs. After only a week of searching for a location, Jami and Penelope found a wonderful location on the ground floor of a government building on Laurier Street. The location would have a steady stream of walk in customers from the surrounding government buildings, who should provide a substantial market for small pastries, especially if they decided to also sell coffee, as Penelope had suggested. With such a large market coming in for the small pastries, they could easily market cakes for weddings and birthdays to their clientele. The only problem now was deciding on the strategy they should use to make the business successful. Jami definitely had the ability to produce some of the best cakes in the city, but Penelope was not sure how much their potential market would be willing to spend on pastries and coffee, especially if they were to come every day, especially if Penelope could secure attractive prices on baking supplies for Jami. Penelope and Jami have asked for your team's advice, they need your help to come up with an appropriate business strategy to help ensure the success of their business
