In regards to Case 24-2 Doe v. Uber, the victimsclaim that there is an agency/employment relationship between Uber and its drivers and is supported by the fact that Uber is the company that "hires" said drivers. Uber argues that their drivers are considered to be independent contractors as they create their own schedules, drive their own vehicles and provide their own car insurance.

It matters that the drivers are considered legal agents instead of independent contractors because if found to be employed under Uber then the sexual assaults that have taken place during their work hours should fall under the

I believe that drivers for companies such as Uber are not independent contractors because they still respond to someone. These drivers are hired by the Uber company.
