"I am currently an active duty military member in the USAF; there is more than one of five models that may apply to my supervisors' model of organizational behavior - on a need basis. I would say that she falls under the Supportive/Collegial Model. In the military, we rely heavily on our leadership support, guidance, and communication. My supervisor works very well with both employees and managers - she gets along with everyone and has an open door policy for anyone who may have any issues that they need to take care of. She is very supportive and will work around the issues her subordinates are having. Her leadership skills also fall under the collegial model, which is an extension of the supportive model, her goal is to ensure that all of the sections are working together cooperatively. Collegial model embodies a team concept (Newstrom, 2013, p. 37). It's her policy to ensure that if one section is deployed, everyone knows how each section processes work. This builds a great relationship amongst each section and is on the same page. Our top leadership executes the same model with supportive and the collegial model. Our commander understands are limiting factors and ensure that other agencies knows what can and cannot be done in the time they want it done.

 As I grew personally and professionally in the military, I have seen all of the models used. I observed, learned, and implemented models that I have see fit for the group I become in charge of. I am constantly working on myself to further my leadership skills to ensure everyone is happy to come to work"?
