Reply to these 2 Discussion posts what do you like about the posts or what do you agree on or anything Discussion 1 Problems that can arise while presenting visual aids can be making sure your visual aid is clear to the audience, is relevant, and there is technology available to display the visual aid . An issue discussed in the book is clarity. Clarity is important because the audience can get confused, misled and the point of the speech is very likely to get missed if the visual aid is unclear. It is important to recover from these issues by explaining in depth every visual aid displayed and encouraging questions to further explain the visual aid. Making sure the visual aid is relevant is also important because the purpose of a visual aid is to reinforce the message being presented. Meaning the visual aid needs to be relevant, again this can be misleading and distracting to the audience. To recover from this an individual should ask for a peer review or present to a small group and look for feedback on whether the visual aid is relevant or not. Technology also can be an issue when displaying visual aids, using technology can be tricky but you can avoid using technology by printing out visual aids, using a poster board or creating the visual on a white/black bored. Discussion 2 When presenting a visual aid it might lead to issues, some of which include people having trouble seeing the visual itself so they aren't able to watch the demonstration, improper sizing of the visual aid itself, relying on the visual aid itself nad using it as a crutch, having distracting graphics that will take away from the speech itself and distract people from the information being given, and finally the failure to engage different learning styles, this means that people who often learn better hands on might not be able to learn as well because they would be able to touch the visual itself, compared to people who learn better while looking at visuals because they can take notes and write them down to convert them to memory. It is possible to come back from this when giving a speech by directing the attention of the audience to what your saying by throwing in something that will catch their attention and yes that may seem unprofessional but say you're giving a speech and no ones paying attention and you can see them losing focus why not throw in a little joke or something random to see their reaction change instead of saying "Well I see no ones paying attention.". Its also easy to use a less distracting visual by learning how to make something eye catching but also not fully distracting
