I believe that it is appropriate for employers to become involved in their employees activities outside of work when they have boundaries in place and if it is work related. Sometimes employees have job parties like family and friend day functions or quarterly luncheons for meetings and ice breakers. Some employees also host other events like food drives, blood bank, and etc. Those can bring employees and employees together in a good way. Now I do not believe that employees who hanging out with their employers for personal, sexual or other gatherings is important or a good idea. Especially if the relationship doesn't work out and it leads to separation or legal matters. Employees should attend meetings regardless of it being online or in person. I don't think it's harmful to attend at least one wellness program at least once per year. It is said that 63% of employees are unwilling to devote more than an hour a day to improve their health and well-being. If a change in the format of wellness offerings were on better standards/terms; they might attend.
