Respond to this discussion. Random numbers for calculating:

13,13,12,12,11,14,18,8,15, & 13

The mean is the average number found by adding all data points and dividing by the total number of data points. In this case:

Mean: 12.9

The median is the middle number, found by ordering all data points and picking out the one in the middle. Since I have an even number of data points, I would average the two numbers in the middle, but in this case, the two numbers are the same, so I would just use that number. In this case:

Median: 13

The mode is the most frequent number, the number that occurs the highest number of times. In this case:

Mode: 13

Since this data is being used to represent satisfaction scores, I would have to report that many issues regarding patient satisfaction need to be resolved. Since the mean, median, and mode scores were all relatively the same, I would say it is a general consensus of dissatisfaction. I would note that there were a couple of higher scores of 18 and 15, but the dissatisfied patients were very dissatisfied with their stay, giving scores as low as 8 and 11.
