Routing & Switching Practical Application implementation.

You are the Lead Network Administrator and System Architect for HussCo Inc., a medium-sized, nationwide company with headquarters in Portland, Maine. Due to recent expansion and the opening of a new call center, the company has built a new facility that combines the headquarters functions with the new call center along with several other departments. You have been tasked with designing and implementing the network infrastructure in this new facility.

Guidelines:

1. Do not waste resources; ensure subnets are properly sized in accordance with requirements.

2. Keep the design as simple as possible; extra complexity without purpose is undesirable. Try to keep hardware purchases to a minimum. Justify all hardware purchases.

3. Design with optimal performance in mind

4. Fully document your design. Explain all design decisions.

5. HussCo is currently a pure Cisco shop (we get a discount because were awesome) but may include other vendors in the future; keep this in mind when designing solutions

Requirements:

1. HussCo is comprised of seven divisions; each of which must exist on its own subnet

a. IT 27 users

2. All subnets must be able to communicate with each other

3. Ensure all unused switchports are disabled and implement port security in the HR Department

4. HussCo operates an internal web server for distributing company news and document sharing.

a. The server hostname is HUSSCOWEB. Configure the environment so all departments can access the server using web browsers and the the URL: https://husscoweb

b. The webpage must contain actual content; configure the web page to include at a minimum the following:

1. HussCo Web Services Banner

2. Your name as the web page designer

c. Ensure ALL servers in the environment are accessible by hostname

4. Ensure all nodes on all subnets other than servers and network infrastructure use Dynamic IP addresses.

5. At a minimum, implement VOIP within the call center. Bonus points for implementing throughout the organization.

Project Specifics:

1. Place two PCs in each subnet regardless of the number of users specified.

2. Ensure any Point-to-point networks use a contiguous network space.

3. Documentation is essential; be sure to document ALL aspects of your network.

4. All networking MUST be correct

5. VOIP phones must fully functional and can dial other extensions. Ensure there are at least two VOIP phones.

6. The HussCo webpage MUST fully functional and be viewable in the PC desktop web browsers

7. Complete all work in Packet Tracer and save as a .pkt file.

8. Submit the Packet Tracer file to Brightspace Remember: There is more than one way to meet the requirements; some solutions may be more appropriate than others but there isnt just a single correct solution.
