Sadly fraud happens all the time. Go to Google and search for "Youth Sports embezzlement" or "City or State Embezzlement" or "Church embezzlement" and click on "News." You will see a long list of recent news articles where citizens have embezzled money out of accounts they were entrusted to protect. Read through several of these articles and find one that you would like to report on$.$ You can further refine your search to a certain state or city if you want to find something local. $($Please try to find a story that has not already been posted by one of your classmates$--$there are plenty as you will see!$)$ I live in Orange County near Placentia and if you google "Placentia embezzlement" you will see two shocking stories $--$ one about the treasurer of the City of Placentia and one about a clerk at our local high school, Esperanza. For this post find a story and summarize the events and how the person was able to get away with the theft and which parts of the fraud triangle were evident and which internal controls WERE NOT IN PLACE in your case.
