Sally is a senior IT manager at Spectra company. Spectra produces virtual gaming devices and is currently experiencing rapid growth. As a result of that, Spectra has recently received a takeover proposal by a big tech giant known as AR Tech. Majority of the Spectras shareholders believe that this is a very good opportunity for Spectra and this take over can maximize their return as the proposal is worth $50 million.
Sally has been working for last 10 years with Spectra and her performance is very well praised by shareholders. She is earning a handsome salary and performance bonuses which recognise her achievements. Sally is not quite happy with the take-over news. She personally knows one of the AR techs senior management person who used to be her ex-manager in one of her previous job. She had conflict with that ex-manager in terms of companys operation and transparency in financial accounts. Sally believes that she will mostly lose her job as she does not wish to work under that person if this take over takes place. Sally is planning to defeat the bid by using her position and power which may result the bid not to proceed. Though Sally knows this is not at the best interest of the shareholders but she believes she deserves to stay in her current job as she has put so much effort in it over last 10 years.
