SCENARIO Bellstar Hotel is a 3-star hotel situated in Cape Town. They offer services such as accommodation, booking of conference rooms and catering. Bellstar Hotel needs a new Information System and has given you (The Business Analyst) the following information regarding their business operation. Bellstar Hotel staff currently operates all their administrations and bookings using handwritten forms or slips stored in drover (files) every time a guest reserves a room and booking for services. The handwritten information may also cause some clashes in the records such as missing a particular slip or maintaining the history about previous reservations. It is also difficult to search for a particular record from a bunch of records. Generating reports is also difficult and it takes a lot of time. With the current system, it is not easy to remind guests about outstanding balances.
