Introduction: Charoing by Ericlion LAB The Lew of Electric Charge states that... Static Electriclty is... Static chargee bulld up when objects are together - this is called charging by Purpose: Statc charges are able to build up on a varlety of objects when they are rubbed together. Some objects will donate electrons, other will receive/take on electrons - this depends on the materials of which they are composed. What charges do different materials take on? Materials: - ebonite rods - fur - acetate sheets - balloon - plastic wrap - glass rods - plastic rulers - small paper pleces - running water - pith ball electroscope - a plth ball is a very small, lightweight object that picks up electric charge quite well; a charged pith ball works well to show the electric forces between two charged objects Procedure: During this experiment, you will visitobserve eight stations. Record your results in the provided Observations Table. Be sure to read \& follow the orocedure at each station carefully. STATION 1 1. Place the part of the balloon labeled " A " against your hair and rub it vigorously. 2. Quickly place "A" against the wall and record your observations below. 3. Place the unrubbed " B " and " C " parts against the wall 4. Record your observations for spots " A ", B and C
