A small, working group - the Strategic Plan Design Team - representing many of the District's stakeholder groups, is responsible for developing the Strategic Plan under the careful guidance of the Superintendent's Cabinet. Drafts of the Strategic Plan will be shared with existing district advisory committees, such as the LCAP Advisory Committees; school sites through principal-led school site meetings; and the larger community through community meetings, and through Public Education Volunteers who are trained to share and gather feedback with their network. What is the Needs Assessment? Why is this important? The Needs Assessment gives the Strategic Plan direction, ensuring feasibility for implementation and sustainability. The Needs Assessment will also help the Design Team and Cabinet to keep the Strategic Plan activities founded on sound educational theory and best organizational management practice. Doing this means the work described in the new Strategic Plan will make a positive impact on SCUSD students, families, teachers, principals, central office staff, and the broader District community.
