7 The compression function is different in Linux than in Windows. In Linux, a new file is created from the folder and its contents are placed in a zip file by default. See Figure 4-24. Notice also that the system creates the compressed tar file in your home directory. Click Create and then click Close. You see a new file named Folder1.zip in your home directory
