It is also the case in South Africa, especially after the ANC assumed power in $1994.$ TheANC has deployed some of its members to key public service positions with a view ofpromoting loyalty and service delivery. There are those who have criticized the ANCs politicalappointments $($politicized bureaucracy$)$ within the public service as a threat, real or perceived,of political sabotage by opposition and disloyal incumbents of the previous dispensation.Critics of the ANCs argue that the ANCs political appointments has resulted in the weakeningof state institutions and enormous corruption that undermines the states ability to deliverservices to the people. However, we cannot rule out the fact that most government areconstituted by parties as a result, it is difficult for politicians who carry the mandate of thepeople not to influence the decisions of public administration$\mathrm{.}1\mathrm{.}1$ Given the scenario above, how can politics be separated from public administration inSouth Africa? What do you think is a practical solution to the challenges faced by Africaand South Africa to be specific?
