Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is an architectural approach in network based application designing where the main applications make use of services available in the network. In this application design architecture, network/Internet based services are used to construct applications. There are two major roles within Service-oriented Architecture: Service provider: The service provider is the sourcing entity of the service and is the organization that provides one or more services for SOA based applications. To advertise services, the provider can publish them in a registry. Service consumer: The service consumer can explore/locate the service metadata in the registry kept by service providers and develop the client side components to bind and use the service(s).
