Sheet1 Production Analysis Problem 16 The Caltran Division of Block C Enterprises develops and markets a general purpose finite element computer program for the evaluation of structures under nonlinear dynamic loadings. The customer support group is a part of the marketing department and was established to assist customers in using the program both on the phone and via the various mails. Historically, every member of the support group was expected to be sufficiently familiar with the program to be able to answer questions in any of the programs areas. But as the program has continued to grow and as capabilities have been added, this has become increasingly difficult. It has been decided therefore, that one member of customer support will be given the primary responsibility for each of the programs primary capabilities (magneties, acoustics, random vibration, viscoelasticity, plasticity, nonlinearities, computational fluid dynamics, piezoelectricity, composites and user features). As a prelude to the assignments, each member of the support group has been asked to rank their own interest in each of the capabilities and these rankings are listed below: Mag Ran Non Pla 5 CFD 3 8 9 Com 8 2 7 3 7 6 1 8 Pzo 9 7 4 2 NOO 00 Anal Angel Boots Crystal Dat Elise Fiona Geri Holly Irene Janet 2 3 -- 1 8 7 4 Vis 6 6 3 5 5 2 8 3 2 w WOUA 0 000 ONO User 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 3 4 10 It is desired to assign (at least initially) areas of specialization so as to minimize the discomfort of the group overall Assign specialty areas to accommodate this desire Sheet1 Production Analysis Problem 16 The Caltran Division of Block C Enterprises develops and markets a general purpose finite element computer program for the evaluation of structures under nonlinear dynamic loadings.
