Cultural Diversity Looking at the experience of the United States regarding diversity, a strong argument could be made for the need for a different way of working with cultural diversity. The United States has been grappling with diversity, with varying degrees of success, since its inception. In fact, the United States was born of issues of diversity religious diversity, and the lack of tolerance of it, motivated many people to leave their British homeland and resettle on the North American east coast. Since the Revolutionary war, the US has continually grappled with diversity, included in issues of slavery, immigrant assimilation, and women's suffrage, civil rights. Superficial eclecticism within multiculturalism could be exemplified by an Anglo-American family learning to speak 'foreign' languages, enjoying Chinese take-out, having a Japanese garden in their backyard, voting for the Equal Rights Amendment, and listening to hip-hop. Extensive integration could be exemplified by a multi-ethnic family, fluent in and actively using more than one language in the household, promoting social equity through local, national and international political activism, with a penchant for exploring diverse culturessometimes adopting and adapting various national and ethnic cultural practices and artifacts, with the intention of expanding their values, tastes and interests. Cultural diversity is the variety of human social structures, belief systems and strategies adapting to situations in different parts of the world. It stands out when cultures from different nationalities interact and differentiate themselves from one another. It is important to understand that managing diversity is intended to create and maintain a positive work environment where the similarities and differences of individuals are valued, so that all can reach their potential and maximize their contribution towards their team, as well as to their organization's strategic goals and objectives. Role of communication and diversity in workforce and education system: Communication is a key to the cultural diversity and it is important for the organizations as well as education system in United States. In the education system, the educators should use different languages to communicate the students. In the education system the following things should be considered: Teaching the Culturally Differentto assimilate students of color into the cultural mainstream and existing social culture. 2. Human Relationsto help students of different backgrounds get along better and appreciate each other. 3. Multicultural Educationto promote cultural pluralism and social equality by reforming the school program for all students to make it reflect diversity. 4. Education that is Multicultural and Social Reconstructionistto prepare students to challenge social structural in equality and promote cultural diversity (utilize s anti-bias and anti-stereotype techniques). 5. Single Group Studies fosters cultural pluralism by teaching courses about the experiences, contributions, and concerns of ethnic, gender, and social class groups. Organization must work to develop a cohesive team committed to working together and complete the project effectively. Managers have to understand cultural diversity, in order to manage their team properly. Diversity has the potential to bring new life, fresh thinking and new solutions to problems. Developing sensitivity and the skill set to manage diverse teams effectively is becoming more and more important. Organization who can effectively work with diverse teams and leverage the new ideas will be on the forefront of global business. The importance of cultural awareness, human behaviour aspects and the effective management of cultural diversity has been emphasized in recent years. Cultural diversity impacts performance and may cause frequent changes in projects in the organization that can delay the completion of projects. Different factors such as language barriers, religion, different nationalities, race, education, organization and politics among others can interact in a culture or diverse cultures English as a global language: English has become a global language which is being used across the globe, this language is being adopted by the countries across the globe and has become one of the standard languages that should be known to the people across the globe.
