Simple chairs are used every day and come in a great variety. Consider the materials they could be made from. You should define more specific parameters for the requirement of your chosen chair to help define your material choices. Choose two possible material options for the chair structure and consider the merits of each to arrive at your final choice. As a minimum you should consider or describe: a) Describe the properties required by your materials (make reasoned assumptions based on the requirement) b) Discuss how the microstructure of the chosen materials define the properties under consideration c) What tests could you do to your chosen materials to verify the required properties? d) Discuss briefly the processes required to produce your materials and form them into your finished chair e) Reflect on any limitations with your choices
