Solve properly, step by step.

Giga Computers Inc. is starting a new division to provide accounting programs to small companies. They already have a job order for an initial project that will last three years. One question that arose is whether to hire programmers as full-time employees or to obtain long-term contractors from a temporary services agency. Based on their experience, they feel that contract employees provide the same levels of technical ability and professionalism as full-time employees. So they are not concerned about their work. It is really only a question of money. Typically, full-time employees are cheaper. Annual total salary for full-time programmers would be $200,000 for the initial project. Contract labor would cost $262,000 per year. There are also fixed costs for hiring programmers that are due at the beginning of the project: $100,000 for the full-time and $50,000 for the part-time programmers. However, there is one important reason for using contract labor. When the project is over, they go somewhere else. If full-time employees are hired, then they can expect continued employment from those employees. If the initial project is unsuccessful and it is estimated there is only a 40% chance of success), Giga Computers will close the new division at the end of the project (i.e., at the end of three years). If the division is closed, the software developers will need to be terminated and outplaced. Total outplacement expense for the staff is estimated at $150,000. How should Giga Computers Inc. proceed? Assume that Giga Computers use present worth (PW) analysis and expected monetary value for making the decision. MARR for the company is 15% annually. (c) (14 points] Give the decision elements for the above problem. Note: You will need to use previous part for conse- quences. (d) [20 points] Draw an influence diagram of the above
