1) We define population as the complete set of all individuals, things or events that you want to investigate with respect to a particular situation. The sample is defined as a subset of the population. Based on the concepts of population and sample; and from what was studied in the first module, establish a population and a sample that are related to the theme of the November 2020 elections. An example related to NUC students is presented below so that you are clear about what you are going to do in this exercise.

Part VI-Types of Sampling (Definitions from Anderson et al. 2019)

1. In each of the following exercises, identify the type of sampling to which the premise refers: random, systematic, convenience, stratified or by conglomerate:

a) The elements of the population are first divided into separate groups, called clusters.

b) One procedure for selecting a sample is to choose the elements for the sample one at a time, so that each of the elements remaining in the population has the same probability of being selected.
