Opening

A good opening states the purpose, sets the context, and previews the main points in addition to achieving GATE. Remember, one sentence can accomplish GATE. Be sure to use direct quotes from the speech and identify where the opening ended.

Organization of the Body

Choose the overall organizational technique for the body of his speech and then give supporting evidence examples by referencing the speech and using direct quotes.

For example, if you choose PPP then you need to clearly state the three points below and support each point with at least one quote. If you choose PCS, you need to clearly state the problem identified, the cause of the problem, and the proposed solution. Then you need to support each with a quote. This applies to whichever technique you choose.

Transitions
