Sterilization of fermentation medium

Sterilization is a process in which the growth medium to be used in fermentation is brought to high temperatures in the presence of steam, and kept for at least $20$ minutes at this temperature in order to kill any bacterial spores which may lead to contamination later on during fermentation.

A total of $10000kg$ of sterile concentrated growth medium needs to be obtained prior to use in a fermentation process. A steam generation device can supply saturated steam at $220C$ for sterilization each time it is used. The engineers intend to obtain the sterilized medium using the following process, in which they dilute a concentrated medium with steam to obtain a diluted medium that is sterilized and ready for use in fermentation.
