Case: Do We Need Health and Safety?

As the newly appointed manager of a supermarket chain in Ontario, Canada youre trying to learn as much as possible about your new workplace. Youre surprised to note the absence of the traditional health and safety bulletin board and any real conversation about OHS in the workplace amongst employees. You ask the owner how health and safety information is being communicated to employees. Are you kidding? they replied. This is a supermarket, not a construction site. We dont need OHS.
