Suggest an additional strategy for how this post might use the information they identified to strengthen their own managerial approach to motivating employees. I have been part of both of these scenarios in multiple positions. Very early in my career, I worked at a local bank. During this period of time they were trying to boost their checking/savings/debit card openings. The "junk food" that they offered was a monetary incentive per account opened. Each checking account, you would receive $10, debit cards $5 and savings $5. As an employee this was quite the incentive. You capped out at $700 a month. During this time, the customer service was at an all time high. We were opening accounts left and right because we received this incentive. However, once the incentive was gone, our customer service skills diminished. There was no incentive to be "nice" or try to sell accounts to people. The months following, our productivity went down. In my current position we do not have any monetary incentives. But, the "health food" that is offered is life changing. We are encouraged to take trainings or go to conferences (work pays) as often as possible. We do not receive anything other
