Summary of findings

Brene Brown's Daring Leadership Assessment gave me insight into my strengths, weaknesses, and possible growth areas. The examination highlighted my self-awareness, courage, and empathy qualities. I have a solid basis for effective leadership, as seen by these traits. I did, however, also point out potential areas for improvement, such as embracing discomfort and being vulnerable. Overall, this evaluation has given me valuable data to consider and knowledge on which to build a plan of action for my leadership development.

Reflecting on Strengths

One of my strengths identified through the assessment is empathy. Effective leadership requires empathy, as Brene Brown emphasizes in her writing. In order to build trust, collaboration, and strong connections within a team or organization, involves comprehending and connecting with the emotions, viewpoints, and experiences of others (Brown, 2013). By fostering a welcoming and inclusive workplace where team members feel heard, appreciated, and understood, I may use this strength in my future leadership job. By fostering empathy, I can advance a psychologically safe work environment that enables people to bring their true selves to the table and give their all.

Courage is another strength I possess. Risk-taking, standing up for what is right, and accepting vulnerability are all characteristics of courageous leadership. To confront issues and promote change, it's necessary to venture outside of one's comfort zone (Brown, 2018). This skill can help me in my leadership job since it allows me to set an example for others and motivate them to push limits, embrace innovation, and conquer challenges. I can cultivate a culture that values creativity, resiliency, and continual development by acting courageously.

Furthermore, the assessment highlighted self-awareness as one of my strengths. Genuine leadership is made possible through self-awareness, which requires recognizing one's own emotions, strengths, shortcomings, and values (Brown, 2018). I may use this strength in my future leadership position by encouraging self-reflection, getting feedback, and constantly learning and developing. Being self-aware allows me to make deliberate decisions that are in line with my values, communicate clearly, and lead with integrity, ultimately fostering a sense of credibility and trust among my team members.

In conclusion, my qualities of empathy, courage, and self-awareness give me a strong basis for my leadership journey. I can develop an empowering leadership style that encourages teamwork, creativity, and personal development by making the most of these strengths. To become a stronger and more resilient leader, I also understand that I must continue to cultivate my vulnerability and embrace discomfort. I want to develop these areas for growth and increase my leadership potential through lifelong learning and deliberate practice.
