I would expect the company leaders have many important things on their schedule, so the fact that they make time to participate shows how important it is to them. Cascade also spends a significant amount of money on the orientation process, but I would expect that the company pays attention to the costs to make sure the costs don't exceed the value of the orientation process. The first problem in this case is that the technology that supports the orientation sessions could be improved in many ways. Rather than handing out paper documents, they could be organized on a web page or shared as Google Docs. The same thing could be done with the forms. New employees could be sent a Google Doc with information and links for all of the forms. Other Improvements include having correct data in the orientation system, making sure new employees are not sent to the wrong sessions and making sure there is a correct mix of specialty areas. Staff are likely very frustrated when issues occur during the orientation sessions, especially since they never know what is going to go wrong next. Maggie
