Task 1: worth 70% of the total marks for the module. Design an e-business website that has a minimum of five pages to include the elements listed below (Agree with your tutor the subject of a website that will make use of some interactive features). Your design should include: A hierarchy diagram showing all page connections and file extensions A page design for each web page showing: o Layout o Main features o Details of all formatting and links Develop the website you have designed. Make your site as interactive and interesting as possible. You should show appropriate use of as many HTML5 and CSS elements and attributes as you can. Marks will be awarded for including the following elements: Linked external CSS, with the majority of formatting for the content and especially for layout of web page using HTML5 elements; section, article, header, footer, and nav. Marks will be gained for including these elements Lists, ordered, unordered or description (used as a list not just used for navigation hyperlinks) A range of fonts, font sizes, colours and emphasis on text, such as bold and italic Tables using more advanced features if possible, but not for layout of any kind Hyperlinks Image Maps linking to at least three areas Borders CSS3 features rounded borders, text shadow etc. Suitable images Suitable navigation A form for inputting different types of data e.g. dropdown, text, radio buttons, checkboxes etc. An audio element (separate to the video) A video element Canvas (higher marks for more complex use) The use of a scripting language such as JavaScript (higher marks for complexity and own configuration) giving interaction. Basic standards for web design Wherever possible some validation should take place as best practice. On completion, test the features of your site work fully on a web server and view in at least two different Browsers, Chrome, Firefox, Opera or Internet Explorer (some HTML features do not function correctly in all browsers.). You will be required to demonstrate your website on an independent computer running on a web server to your tutor and explain the key features of the design with justifications as to why they have been used. A copy of your website (all files) submitted to classroom, along with design documentation, should be submitted on the first date of the demonstrations.
