Question
Task: Select a typical continuous beam along the longest span at Floor 1. Analyse the continuous beam using both moment distribution method and simplified method
Task:Select a typical continuous beam along the longest span at Floor 1. Analyse the continuous beam using both moment distribution method and simplified method which proposed in AS 3600 (Clause 6.10).Loading pattern as stipulated in AS3600 (Clause 2.5.4 ) should be considered.
recommended method: Moment distribution method (Simplified method)
Special Instructions:
1. For structural adequacy, fire resistance period of all major structural components should be atleast 120 mins and is exposed in a mild environment condition.2. Maximum dimension of beam depth should not be greater than 600 mm.3. Maximum dimension of column should not be greater than 500 mm.4. Minimum head room is 2.3 m.
From preliminary engineering judgement and site investigation, the following information is gathered:
1. The building should be constructed of reinforced concrete with C35 concrete, grade 500 MPaClass N reinforcement for main bars and 250 MPa plain reinforcement for stirrups.
2. The building is enclosed with non-structural walls, assume the external beams are supportingbrick walls of 250 mm thick with unit weight 21.7 kN/m3.
3. There is a water tank at the roof area at the slab panel of grid A1-B24.
