Technology has brought about great change to the way most of us learn, work, live and play. But what makes a technology a disruptive technology? Harvard Professor Clayton Christensen states that a disruptive innovation or technology has two distinct attributes.

First, they come to market with a set of performance attributes that existing customers dont value.(People who didn't have phones, didn't think they needed them at first. Having a phone was a luxury).

Second, over time the performance attributes improve to the point where they invade established markets (Can you imagine anyone who does not think they need a phone?)
