The country is about to analyze is Japan. Before figuring out the relationship between Japanese economy openness and the pay inequality condition of the country, it is important to clarify the concepts and definitions. Multiple ways of measuring the openness of a country exists, one measure people usually take is measuring the GDP percentage of exports and imports, which is also the way applied in this report. The annual data is gathered from World Bank database. As for income inequality, one database is suggested in the assignment guidance will provide support for the result and analysis. Data used in this assignment are provided by the UTIP-UNIDO database measuring and explaining the movements of inequality in wages and earnings. The inequality score of Japan in 2013 is the only founded after 2010, therefore, I use the data on Japan from 2000 to 2010, accordingly, data relevant to economy openness are also from this decade.
