The EPA has mandated that by 2030, all U.S. citizens must switch to driving electric vehicles. I feel as though this mandate aligns with my values that yes I feel as though it could be beneficial for environmental sustainability in order to combat climate change and reduce pollution as well as reducing carbon emissions. Although, I feel as though I lean more towards that it challenges these beliefs due to my individual freedom and economic feasibility. More so I feel as this mandate is an infringement on our own personal choices, on our freedom, particularly because I prefer gasoline vehicles, and not to mention electric vehicles are insanely expensive. I surely could not afford one right now and even regular maintenance on them is insanely much more expensive than gasoline vehicles due to that everything on them are electronics. This mandate poses many challenges such as financial burden, infrastructure development, and technological adaptation. As for friends and family, the primary concerns would most likely be my reasoning of the cost and accessibility. Overall, the initial cost of purchasing electric vehicles are high and not everyone can afford to transition to them and the EPA would have to have adequate charging
