The first step is to talk with the attorney to give me a search target and scope. Are we looking for insider trading, ponzi schemes, money laundering/misallocation, money mules, theft, fraud, everything?

Then I will make an e-discovery plan and look it over with the team and attorney.

Once I receive electronic evidence to be examined. I must do my best to avoid spoliation by making backups of backups and by operating in a sandbox or contained area.

As I am probably going to be sifting through a titanic amount of data, I must make sure I have enough resources and allocate them properly to complete the task in the time frame assigned by my attorney. I may need to hire 50 analysts to help me sift through the data and I may require 50 high-speed computers. (This number is dynamic as more or less resources may be need as litigation goes on). Also, because of the quantity of data, I will look for ways to narrow and target searches to be more efficient on a regular basis.

I will go for the easiest targets, communication between the executives, such as CEO of Alameda, Caroline Ellison, and FTX executives Sam Bankman-Fried, Gary Wang, and Nishad Singh. Most likely, they would have used an encrypted means of communication such as the app Signal, so then I would look for loose crumbs and look at the communication between executives and their personal assistants, secretaries, friends, and romantic interests.

I will also need to hire an expert(if budget allows) or research and learn myself how to uncover deleted data from servers or IOT devices and make sure I have the proper equipment to do the job.
