I need to factor all the polynomials completely in both equations below while listing the steps of the solutions in a discussion.

2b2+ 11b - 6

#2

I need help in:

  • Find the domain for each of your two rational expressions.
  • Write the domain of each rational expression in set notation .
  • Answering if both of the rational expressions have excluded values in their domains? If yes, explain why they are to be excluded from the domains. If no, explain why no exclusions are necessary.

The work I have done thus far is:

Domains of Rational Expressions

The rational expressions I was assigned that my work is based off of are:

The domain of a rational expression is defined as the set of all possible inputs of the function the set in the ALEKS assigned reading and I understand it to mean a domain is the set of all possible values for the function. Some numbers cannot be in the domain if the denominator has numbers that will not allow it.

Real Numbers are defined as numbers that are either natural numbers. Integers or rational numbers that include with natural numbers or integers. Within the Real Number System, Real Numbers cannot be divided by zero. When there is no opportunity to divide by zero, we call the try "undefined". Also, we know that a denominator divides the numerator in a rational number and therefore cannot be zero.

In my first expression, the denominator has a variable of b.

Since it is impossible for 67 to equal zero, there are no excluded values for the domain. We can say the domain (D) is the set of all Real Numbers, written in set notation that would look like this:
