The professor instructed the class at specific times during the class she was going to tell them to engage in a behavior in one class they were told they would be asked to change seats in another class they were told that when instructed to they would engage in the wave. The professor started the lecture and then at random points in the lecture stopped and knocked on the podium then shortly after instructed the class to engage in the identified behavior ( change seats or do the wave).
