THE PROJECT This individual project involves selecting a company involved in International Logistics and reporting on its activities. Your purpose is to demonstrate your understanding of the role of logistics in International Trade and your ability to apply your knowledge to a practical, commercial analysis. You may select any company involved in International Logistics that provides a service in the movement of goods or information. Your choices include, but are not limited to, transportation companies (including carriers, couriers, airports, and marine terminals), freight forwarders, customs brokers, inventory management specialists, technology providers (order entry, ERP, or bar code systems suppliers) and warehousing (or storage or supply chain) specialists. The only restriction is that I must approve your selection before you begin your research in order to avoid duplication and to ensure that your selection is appropriate. I will post a spreadsheet on Blackboard as individual companies are selected so you can see which companies have already been chosen. Please confirm that your selection is focused on the cross-border movement of goods. For example, a freight forwarder that is focused on shipments between Chicago and Kansas City is of little interest and Pearson Airport's passenger services are not as important as their international cargo activities I strongly suggest that you select a major international company for this project.
