  • Walkthrough observations
  • Feedback meetings

Based on the academic data, walkthrough observations, and feedback meetings, you have collaboratively identified action steps with each teacher for improvement of instructional practices. In addition to individual teachers' action steps, you should also a campus Professional Development Plan. The Professional Development Plan should consist of specific targeted objectives to ensure ongoing improvement of instructional practices among all faculty. A comprehensive professional development plan should consist of well-designed objectives.

Keys to Designing Effective Professional Development Objectives

  1. Narrow the focus: The professional development plan must target the objectives/goals that have the greatest impact on instructional practice for improved academic achievement.
  2. Highest leverage: The objective must be the most important skill teachers currently cannot do that will increase student learning and teacher proficiency.
