The speed of rising water levels has been increasing over time, figure 1 shows this trend. The slope formula in Excel was used to calculate the observed water levels from Fisheries and Oceans Canada for Point Atkinson Station. Between 1999 and 2018, the mean water level was 4.067 mm, and the annual max was 1.789 mm. Data from these 20 years are much higher than the long-term average between 1919 and 2018. Between 1919 and 2018, the mean water level was 1.066 mm and an annual max of 0.988. Based on the slope calculation, we can see that the water levels have been increasing at a faster rate in the more recent 20 years
