There are countless factors to take into consideration when analyzing a countries business efforts and how this will in turn affect their success. The EU, for example, has a very free and open governmental environment. Most decisions that a business will make will be left up to themselves without their government imposing strict rules and regulations. This is beneficial to companies in the EU as they are free to work independently and make choices that coincide with their business needs. There are also consequences to operating in such a free environment. On the flipside. MNC's in Russia operate in a strict environment being overseen by their government, Most, if not all, decisions must firstly address the governmental rules and regulations imposed on their business. They have less independence when it comes to choices and their business needs. Similar to the EU, there are also advantages to having their MNC's so highly regulated.
