The term fourth sector economy is not really new and have been in existence for some years now. However, the present Covid pandemic has seen a new urgency to get business involved in society and not only focus on profit taking.

It is generally perceived that the policy and regulatory frameworks, financial structures, metrics and other systems is based on the present economic systems, and it needs to be changed to support the move towards a fourth sector economy.
